We're doing a secret Santa were we need to be crafty so I decide to have the girls do mod-podge frames as gifts.  I love the way they turned out!  Here's the girls making them the funny thing is their outfits match the frames.  The colors were picked because it's our secret Santa's favorite colors, not because it of their outfits.  LOL and than the finished frames.

I'm having so much fun moving Frend the elf around the house.  Edd loves looking for him and then finding him.  It's so much fun to see the look in her eyes when she spots him.  T on the other had not so excited about it all, I'm not sure she gets it.

Yep that is the look she is giving me as I reach for my camera this morning.  It was cold and I told her that before letting her out the door.  Did she listen to me?  Of course not, she's a cat!  LOL  Yeah, I think she was out for a total of 15 minutes the whole day, the rest of the time she was curled up on my bed in the laundry that needed to be folded.

Frend the elf

Yes we're on the Elf on the Shelf kick with just about everybody else with kids around 3-8.  His name is Frend.  He's not very mischievous or naughty.  he just kind of a nice guy that listens to the girls and reports back to Santa every day until Christmas.  Edd is loving finding him around the house and talking to him.  T, not so much.  This morning guess he needed some coffee to start his day, cause that's where we found him.  Sitting next to my coffee pot with his cup in hand.

newborn hat

I been wanting and waiting for someone to let me do some newborn photos.  And I've been looking at how much newborn hats cost...OMG those things aren't cheap.  I've been asking my mom to make me a few but well it's kind of hard to get on her case to make me one when she lives 700+ miles away from me.  So because I'm cheap and I have in the past done some crocheting I decide to get some yarn and try my hands at it again.  Not bad for not picking a crochet hook up in a ~long, long~ time.

sometimes you just need to stop and take a picture.  That's what I decide as I was coming up on this church and cemetery.  I've been wanting to take more cemetery photos and today just seemed like the day.  No one was behind me as I made the quick swerve into the parking lot.  I got out of my car took 3 pix and got back in my car and drove away.  Yep, that's what I wanted to do.  I think it came out right just what I wanted dreary and a bit dark.

Love this photo!

Love this photo!  I did a photo session with 3 great kiddos all in black in white.  Okay I really shot in color.  But it's was suppose to be a B&W shoot.  I love the way this one turned out.  He was a bit shy and didn't want to do a lot of smile.  I told him to just look at the camera and stick his tongue out to see if it would make him smile.  Yes, I got him to smile some, but really only when he was with his brother and sister.  Those turned out great.  took about 245 photos and had to narrow it down to under 30.  That was hard, but I did it.

I bought some cupcakes on sale and as we were eating them I decided ~or maybe it was lil H who decided~ that he need some too.  Gave him a bite or two of mine.  No question about it, he's going to dive right into his 1st year birthday cake with all the gusto of kid with candy.  Can you not see the "yum sugar!" look in he's eyes as he's "eating" his piece of the cupcake?

we had dinner with fries and after I grabbed a hand full and put them on one of the girls' plate one was standing straight up!  LOL  I told them too look they both laughed and say "take a picture of it momma!  take a picture!"  too cute.  So thanks to my daughters the photo of the day is one french fry standing up while the rest are just laying about.  ;-)~

Happy anniversary!!!

That's right it's our anniversary.  25 years  of wedding bliss....okay maybe not bliss we've had our ups and down but this day was a great day.  He surprised me with roses and champagne!I squealed like a girl when I saw him getting out of his car with them.  Yep, I'm a happy girl, I got roses and champagne from my anniversary!!

making X-mas cards

I went shopping over the Thanksgiving weekend! and picked up some crafty things to make Christmas cards/ornaments for the girls so we can pass out.  First of all I can't believe I really went shopping over THAT weekend and second I can't believe I let the girls make the cards so soon after I bought the stuff to make it.  This year THEY WILL be mailed out in time for people to hang them up.  Now I just need to go get envelopes and stamps to mail them off.

baby spiders

the day after thanks giving I stand on my deck enjoying the weather and look down and see lots of baby spiders crawling around.  I know there are a few out there who would grab the broom quicker than the camera, but not me I took about 10 shots of those little buggers!  But you know I've always thought that they hatched in the spring, won't most of them die because of the cold?

Thanksgiving Turkey

I love Thanksgiving day. I love it even more when I don't have to cook.  I love it even more when I don't have to cook and the chef ~my son~ comes to my house and cooks the food.  Hell even better when he brings the turkey too!  Here it is "resting" by the sink after he took it out of the brine it's been soaking in for 3 days.  Oh and it was really, really yummy and well worth the wait.

it's what's for breakfast

Love that one of my girls eats like 4 meals mostly all before 4pm.  I swear she must be a Hobbit.  She loves breakfast any kind of breakfast.  Yep, for her second ~or was it her 3rd?~ she had chips and dip.  Her little sister need a glass of milk so she got that too.  Not sure why the corkscrew is out but hey, it makes a good photo opp.  Yep, there's an opp for that in this house; have camera will take pix.  ;-)~

my momma

after learning how to walk away from his momma, he how can't handle her walking away from him.  LOL  Every time she stood up, he would walk towards her and grab his momma's leg as if to say "NO don't go!"  even tho they spend almost 24/7 together.  The joys of an almost 1 year old.

pomegranate

I love taking photos of food.  It really is an art form in itself, making food look good.  I know, I know people take photos of their food all the time but really, truly does it look good? Artistically good?  That is the secret! 

I went and brought a pomegranate.  As I was eating it and looking at the seeds, seeing the way the juice was puddling it was too staining the cutting board; I thought it would be too cool to pass it up and not take a photo of it.  I did set up the shot, that can be fun in itself, I only wish I got some of the juices pooling at the end of the knife.  Oh well, what do you think?

gotta have art!

Had this paper just sitting around collecting dust and Edd asked if she could use it to paint something on it.  Sure why not?  Go ahead, have fun I said, knock your socks off.  I decided to take a photo of it when she was half done with it because I knew that she would put so much more in it then needed too like most artist do until they realize that less can be more and just S-T-O-P.  I think it looks pretty cool the way it when I took the photo....and I was right she added so much more before stopping.

I did a photo session (if you want to see it it's posted on my bluebox photo page) and Edd fell in love the feather head piece she wore it for a good long time.  Here she is just watch TV in it.  I had to finally tell her that it wasn't a toy.  That girl of mine loves to wear things on her hat...that is besides hats in the winter.  LOL

WOW what a differences a day makes

took this photo just about 24 hours later then the last one and OMG what a differences a day makes.  it was beautiful out yesterday but today it was cold, rainy and very windy!  The leaves are almost gone.

yeah, they screwed up

Love the fact that we didn't know about this 9 years ago.  T made the toilet overflow by putting to much toilet paper in the toilet.  Not only did she overflow the toilet but it also leaked ~big time~ down stairs into the livingroom.  WELL we found out that it just wasn't her fault.  Some idiot screwed a screw into the pipe!  YEP someone screwed up over 9 years ago when putting in the tub, 9 years of drip, drip drip into the floorboard rotting a small bit of the floor every day.  I guess it's better to have found out this way then having a tub full of water come crashing into the living room.

mead is bottled up

 The mead is bottled up and ready to drink.  We're now just waiting for the 17th of Dec and have our Mead party.  32 bottles ready to drink.  It's so smooth going down and taste so good....yes I had to sample it to make sure that it was good!

 T needed a new cast again for her leg after getting Botox.  The only way to keep her still so they could do it was with...you guessed it my Ipad.  LOL

I wish the way the light was shinning on them really came out the way I saw it this morning.  It was really pretty the way the sun was peeking out from the clouds with sunbeams streaming on the buildings.  Oh well it's my photo of the day anyway.

unfortunately a view from my backyard.

WTH!  Why are they knocking down trees and clearing the land to build more empty lots that stand empty for years?  Can't they just look down the road to see all the empty lots where they did just that a few years ago?  Or the buildings that stand unused that the banks now own?  Crazy but they're doing it again.    And this is only a few yards from my backyard....unfortunately.

naptime for Henry

I needed to go up and see my lovely daughter and we ended up going to the grocery store.  We are just about there and Henry fell asleep, so we decided for her to just go into the store and H and I hang out in the car.  Guess he was tired he slept the whole time she was in there plus another stop and the drive home.  Long car nap for such a tired little boy!

Owies all around at the park. Edd got an owie on her head when she was looking where she was going and smacked into a wooden beam.  T got her owie by rubbing her hand up and down a wooden pole and getting a long splinter in her palm.  OUCH! for both of them.

what's wrong with this?

Do you see what I did wrong when I make this iron on for my sweatshirt?  can you see that I made it backwards or I didn't make it backwards?  AND there is only one ta in the ta-tas!  Yeah, I really should do it again but I want to see if anyone will say anything to me about it.  I've worn it twice and no one as said anything about it....yet.
