Rocks on the beach
Got to love the beach, even a beach on a lake. We went to the lake and as I was hanging out at the water's edge I look to my left and see this really pretty rock grouping. I wonder what child did this...or even a person young at heart or with a playful side.
4 shots
T got four shots today. She didn't want to get them. I had to grab her face and look into her eyes and tell her why she was getting them....one shot is very very important, the DTaP is something that your brother, Nelyn, never got because he was to young, but he died of Pertussis and I don't want you to get it. Momma got pertussis too and it is very, very scary the way you cough and cough and can't breath right afterwards. So, yes it's going to hurt and yes you will cry, but you will not get sick with any of these diseases that you get a shot for because you are vax'd against them.
She got 4 pink band-aids to cover her owies and I made her show me her legs when we got home.

chimpmunk on the deck
I like to feed the birds with the dried breads. I just didn't feel like ripping up into little pieces, guess this little guy didn't care, it was food! It was on the bannister and he knocked it off and he followed it on to the deck. I wonder how much he was able to shove in his mouth, if he even could with how hard it was. LOL

butterfly on the ground
I love the way this butterfly looks next to the bare ground and twigs. So blue and black against the brown. I got one photo in before it flew way. What a joy it was to see as I was waiting for Edd to get off the bus. Late summer may be hot but it's still a very special time of the year with school starting the days starting to get shorter and fall just around the corner.

first day of school
I remember growing up in Michigan ~not having school start until around Labor day~ that mid August was still summer time. I don't get this where come August 1st some of the schools are already starting back to class. I guess it's what you know, because my girls were so happy to go to school. No fighting about getting up early ~oh wait they don't know what it's like to sleep in!~ getting dresses and going to school. They both had a great first day. Lets hope that it keeps up and they have a wonderful school year even if it did start way to early for me.

DJ Kermit
I was driving behind this guy for the longest time and I read and re-read this over and over again. I'm guessing that he's been doing it for awhile because his website is a MYSPACE. Who has myspace still....wait I'm old and old people didn't do myspace when it was popular. So I started wondering if there was a facebook page for it, can't tell....a blog?...can't find one. BUT you can youtube and find him on myspace to see if he's right for you to host your next party.

three geese in a row
After coming back from the mountains we went to the lake. Instead of photos of the girls frolicking in the watch it's a photo of Canada geese taking a break in the water. such a peaceful thing to watch for a minute until you turn back and see your kiddos playing in the water having fun.

family tootsies
So for the last few day we were hanging out with the family in TN, near Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg TN. We had a great time. Didn't do much but we did have fun just hanging with the fam. I love this photo of me, 3 of my sisters, 2 of my nieces and 2 of my daughters tootsies. What a funny family photo. LOL We went looking for a waterfall but couldn't find parking so we just stopped at the river to cool our feet and take a break from driving. It is really pretty country up there.

who farted
stirring the fire
Love this photo. Hot August night, a bonfire out in the country what more could you want. Love how it looks like he's stirring the fire in some magical way. Love the way the colors play, the shades of browns and gold are the only colors. To me something is magical about this photo. Think I like it?

hot tub lounging
After a long day of driving she gets to jump into the hot tub and take a break....but what of the driver? She (me) stands outside of the hot tub taking photos. LOL I guess sitting in a car for 5 hours was tiring work.

is that phone water proof?
REALLY lady? do you really need to be on the phone in the lake. NOT at the lake but IN the lake. Why? I'm pretty sure that most phones aren't covered if they get wet and why the hell are you on the phone in the water? Yes, I know it's hot out, yes I understand that it's your phone and you pay for it, but really? LOL And I heard part of your conversation and it really didn't sound all that dire. But hey who am I, but some crazy lady with a camera sitting at the water's edge taking a photo of another crazy lady on the phone in the lake. crazy!

making mead
Bet you don't know what mead is! I'll tell ya, it's honey wine. They use to drink it all the time in the middle ages. A few years ago in a land far away....okay maybe not that far away it was only in Virginia but it was a few years ago, my darling husband wanted to make some mead but he didn't really know how, so he bought a book and looked on the internet for recipes ~I guess it wasn't that long ago if we had internet, LOL~ and we made some mead. Yummy, yum, yum! But it will knock you on your ass at 15-17% alcohol if you're not careful. Here it is just getting started it takes up to 30 days for all the yeast to eat the sugar and he/we'll take it out of this jug, put it in another (smaller) jug and then wait some more for it to ferment then bottle that up and wait for Dec to have a winter solstice party like any good middle ager! Want to come?
