unfortunately a view from my backyard.

WTH!  Why are they knocking down trees and clearing the land to build more empty lots that stand empty for years?  Can't they just look down the road to see all the empty lots where they did just that a few years ago?  Or the buildings that stand unused that the banks now own?  Crazy but they're doing it again.    And this is only a few yards from my backyard....unfortunately.

dark haired beauty

on my facebook I put out a shout out that I was looking for a dark haired beauty and this beauty took me up on it.  I'm very happy with the way they all turned out, the weather was great and the model is beautiful.  She was such a joy to take photos of.

chimpmunk on the deck

I like to feed the birds with the dried breads. I just didn't feel like ripping up into little pieces, guess this little guy didn't care, it was food!  It was on the bannister and he knocked it off and he followed it on to the deck.  I wonder how much he was able to shove in his mouth, if he even could with how hard it was.  LOL

wicked fairy

I took photos (198 of them) this day of fairies in my backyard.  I loved it and so did the fairies.  I got some great shots that I'll be putting up on my other blog bluebox photography in the next few days or so.  It was very very hot but man-oh-man there is some great shots.  I love doing the fantasy photos it's so much fun!  here's one that makes me giggle because in the next one she's got a big ol' smile on her face.  (That one is posted on the other blog.)

where the wild things grow

I planted these flowers last year, from seeds, but they really didn't grow.  And this year my little wild flower garden is growing.  Aren't they pretty?  I believe they're black eyed susans...please correct me if I'm wrong. ;-)

swim time

one of the best things in the summer is being able to go swimming and it's even better when you have a pool in the backyard.  Oh the joys of summer!  I swear the girls would be there every day if I let them.  Swim time is the best time on a hot hot summer day.

mushroom

I guess we've had lots of rain, because we've had couple of mushrooms pop up in the backyard lately.  here's one that reminds me of a fairy mushroom.  LOL...go ahead a Google "fairy mushrooms" to understand what I'm talking about.  ;-)~

pool time

Got to watch the grandbaby and yep, when you're little and everything is just too big for you, you get special treatment some times.  That's why he's in the foot wash instead of the big pool.  I didn't have to worry about him dunking his face in the water and coming up spitting and gagging thinking it was great fun and giving me a heart attack.  LOL

my hat

I love my hat.  I got it a few years ago while visiting my sisters in Texas.  I call it my Mexican hat, because it was being advertised that way.  I wear it every where.  I also take it with me on vacation too.  It's been to MD, MI, OH, CA, and Vegas.  I just love it.  The other stuff in the photo are some cool things too, but this pix is all about my hat.

ahhh to be back home after a fun weekend away.  Nope, not the kiddos, not the hubby but a bird made it as my photo of the day.  kind of boring but still, it's what I wanted to take a picture of.

blue eyes

blue eyes, nothing but blue eyes, nothing but blue eyes for now on. Blue Skies, sung by Betty Hutton from the 1940's That's what what going through my head when I decided to use this photo of Edd for my photo of the day.  With the blue from the pool and her dark hair makes her eyes POP! (you'll have to enlarge it to really see what I mean.)

laughing duckie

I love being outside in the spring.  I have a hard time being inside.  And looking out the window to take photos was a no go, so out I went.  I took lots of photos of the flowers in the backyard but as I was walking back up to the house.  I decided to take a few photos of Nelyn's garden, really the laughing duckie in the garden.  And it turned out to be my favorite of the day.  I just might be taking lots of photos of my backyard this year....that is if the weather co-operate.

Ladybug

I went outside to find something to take a photo of.  Turned out that the best thing was a ladybug on the Japanese maple in Nelyn's garden.  Today is his "angel day" I really can't call it an anniversary because I think of that word as a happy word.  Some days my heart overflows with sadness for not be able to see him grow up.  And little things like a ladybug on a leaf can make the sadness just a little bit lighter.

Oh and I just heard that a friend had her baby today, so now along with the tears of today I have a smile to add to the day. :-)

flowers in cups

So the day before I got new flowers and my kiddos do love to pick them.  And since Edd planted some flowers the day before she decided to pick some and put them in cups.  This time she got fancy and put some in a wine glass.  I'm very happy it didn't fall over the edge.  But, you have to admit it they do look pretty in a wine glass.

Welcome back Mr Squirrel!  Haven's seen you on the back deck since early winter.  Wonder where you've been.  Oh wait...the dogs been hanging out there in the nice weather.  And since they were still sleeping you decided to see if there was any food for you.

another from my backwindows.

Since it's too cold for me to go outside, it doesn't mean that I don't like looking out at the cold.  I love how winter doesn't feel so dead tome me like it does for other people.  There is always movement and life outside even with it too cold for me to go outside.  This was taken in the morning, doesn't it just say life with the way the shadows lay across the snow full of dog tracks.

backyard birds

These are taken from my back window, it's just too cold for me to be outside.  I love the look of cardinals in the winter.  The bright red in the gray-brown trees without leaves with snow to make them stand out more.  The puffed up feathers to stay warm I bet they dream of summer too when it's this cold.

Looking out my back window there is still snow on the grown from Christmas day....but not for long.  Had to take a photo before it is all gone.  Ahhhh snow in Georgia just doesn't stay long.  Don't know if it's good or bad,,,it just is.
