Happy birthday!

You can't have ~or I should say you shouldn't~ a birthday without some sort of cake with candles.  It was my DIL birthday so my oldest daughter made dinner and we had some (cheese)cake and ice cream!  Here she is blowing out the candles after we sang her Happy Birthday ~on key and but out of tune.  And you got to love her daughter peeking over the edge of the table wondering what's going on.  LOL

stirring the fire

Love this photo.  Hot August night, a bonfire out in the country what more could you want.  Love how it looks like he's stirring the fire in some magical way.  Love the way the colors play, the shades of browns and gold are the only colors.  To me something is magical about this photo.  Think I like it?

watching the fire

sitting in front of a fire can be so relaxing, makes you forget about the hard day you've had....but than how hard of a day can a 3 yr old have?

burn baby burn

Smelling wood burning, walking out on the deck than looking down from the deck above and seeing a burning chiminea.  Love the look of a fire, looking down on one gives you a new prospective, see the spark coming up from the chiminea? isn't that cool.  I know it's a little blurry but it's hard to brace the camera in the dark and breath at the same time.
