Snow queen

My little princess was Queen Elsa for Halloween and I promise her that we could do some snow photos of her in her outfit.  I guess we should have waited until the next winter storm because by the time we took these it was mostly gone and it was just cold; as you can see by the second picture. But she was so happy to be able to dress like Queen Elsa that the cold didn't bother her anyway.  ;-)

Domo in the snow, I thought that it would look really cool to put him in the snow....I guess I was getting cabin fever or something and just needed to get out of the house.  LOL

So the day before was snowing and this day was COLD(!) and windy, Ya I was not going out this day to take photos either.  Too freaking cold, I wouldn't even let Edd and T go outside.  Cold, cold, cold!

It snowed and snowed this day.  I really didn't want to go out in it but I wanted to get a lot of photos.  ya, that didn't happen either, I think I took about 2 or 3 photos.  I'm hoping that the next time it snows I'll get off my butt and dress warm and go outside and get some great snow photos. but this is still a cool photo of the snow on the tree outside my kitchen window.

we didn't get much snow in the winter but now that spring has sprung we got a few inches.  The top photo is from about 9:15 in the morning and it was still snowing.  The bottom one is from around 7:45pm.  I had to work this day so I didn't get a chance to take the girls out to play in the white stuff.  I was bummed, I kept wishing that I wasn't there so I could *finely* get some wonderful snow pix.   The temp started off about 32* and I think when I got home it was in the high 40's.  Yeah, well maybe next season.

Woke up to snow on the ground and the first thing out of Edd's head is "It snowed, NO SCHOOL!" sorry to disappoint you, there is school today. "Awwwww!"  it was pretty on the way to Marietta is morning.

Since it's too cold for me to go outside, it doesn't mean that I don't like looking out at the cold.  I love how winter doesn't feel so dead tome me like it does for other people.  There is always movement and life outside even with it too cold for me to go outside.  This was taken in the morning, doesn't it just say life with the way the shadows lay across the snow full of dog tracks.

These are taken from my back window, it's just too cold for me to be outside.  I love the look of cardinals in the winter.  The bright red in the gray-brown trees without leaves with snow to make them stand out more.  The puffed up feathers to stay warm I bet they dream of summer too when it's this cold.

prettier the day before

It it was so much prettier the day before, then it was this day.  It looked like a winter wonderland and today it just looks cold and icky.  When it starts to melt it doesn't have the same look as when you first see it.

cold tootsies

So the weather has been very weird lately.  We've had more then 10 inches of snow since Christmas eve.  WOW that's crazy for north Georgia.  Crazy, but great for kiddos.  Edd loved it she couldn't wait to get out in it.  That is until she got out in it.  LOL  As you can see with this pix if you go out in the snow without shoes and socks your tootsies get cold pretty darn fast!

White Christmas in GA

It was a white Christmas in Georgia.  It hasn't snowed on Christmas day in over 100 years!  Edd thought it was great!  She couldn't wait to get out and play in it...I've been watching neighbors' animals and I let her come with me this evening, but before we got there she had to play in the white stuff.  She couldn't believe what great fun snow was; a snow ball fight, making snow angels, catching snow flakes on her tongue...that is until she got too cold.  ;-)~   What a great Christmas present for a 5 yr old.  I hope she keeps this memory for a long time.
