beach bag using a beach towel

I made/sewed a beach bag using a beach towel and ribbon.

June 4

fold the ends down enough to get a bottle or two of sunscreen to fit.  About 6-8 inches

pin & sew bias tape in the middle to keep towel from fraying.

make sure it fits

measure ribbon to get just the right length

both sides

figure out how wide you want it

pin and sew

great beach/pool bag

I have an idea for a photo session that has to deal with feathers, ribbons and the outside.  come back later and see what I have in mind either here or on my other blog.

Wanted: 2 young knights, princess, tinkerbell

Wanted: 2 knights outfits waiting on some little ones to make them come alive and maybe a princess and/or a Tinkerbell.  

I made these outfits and would love to take photos of your little one in one of these make believe clothes.  
size 6months-2 yrs for the tinkerbell outfit, 
about 18-2 1/2 yrs for the purple princess outfit
The 2 brave knights need to be around 2-5 years of age to fight the make believe dragons. Okay I admit I didn't make the knight outfits I did buy them, but I have tons of ideas for them.

I've got an idea or 4 for these outfits, just need a few little ones to fill them.  :-)

dresses are done!

I have went back and read the last 3 post you know that I was sewing from awhile 3 dresses for my uncle's wedding.  Well I *DID* finish them before we had to leave.  Hung up and ready to go the 12 hours or so to get to Michigan.  Happy to say I am very pleased with the way they turned out.  Thankyouverymuch!!

I am such a procrastinator I wait until the last minute to finish things up.  I had to get up early and leave in the next 2 days and I just started on my dress.  I know about the wedding for months but nope I didn't start on the dang things until the last minute.  I paused from sewing to take this photo, but still had a ways to go.

Since you saw T's dress now its Edd's turn, but this time she's in her dress.  T didn't want to pose for photos but Edd she's my little model.  She loves posing for pix.  I think I took about 15+ of her in this red alone.  This just happens to be my favorite of them.

T's dress

T loves wearing purple and pink.  So for the wedding that we had to go to she wanted a purple dress.  So I made a dress for her, here it is all finished just needed to be ironed.  She looked so pretty in it too!

I love sewing and I love sewing for people who ask me to sew something for them BUT I have to have them near me to finish it in one day.  So I make deals with them to be there with me so I get it done.  LOL  That's what I did with Matt-Matt.  BUT I got a bonus out of it.  He mowed my front yard as I was putting it all together.  I forgot how much work it was to make a kilt!  You need to plait and pin each one individual....that takes lots of time and is tedious...but I did it and it's finished....well all but for the snap to keep it closed as he wears it.

my new purse

I've been looking and looking for a new purse that I liked, but I can't seem to find one anywhere...So I made my own!  I had something in mind and when with it.  Didn't have a pattern so I just did what I wanted with what I had and va-lia a new purse that hopefully I will use.  To tell you the truth I've never really been a purse carrying kind of girl.  But in the summer time I need something to carry my wallet and phone in.  What do you think?

day before St Patrick's day

I wanted to make something for my girls to wear for St. Patrick's day, so the Saturday before I went to the fabric store and got them some green fabric.  I wasn't able to make it until after I studied and finished my finals (I passed both finals! Yay me!).  I was able to start and finish outfits in one day....with a lot of stopping just because I didn't feeling like just sitting down and doing it.  Instead of finishing it up in just 2 hours it took  me all day to finish them, BUT I did finish them and they were able to wear them on St. Patrick's day, the day of Green!
